I think this platform would really benefit from a community-driven wiki site with all of the following features:

  • Written tutorials on all of CSS’s features, updated to the current version of CSS, with links to the last available video’s on the same topic.
  • A list of all available Actions, Conditions, Listeners and Loops in Reactions. The wiki site would then also give the option to create individual pages for any of these options if there’s more to say about them or if there are specific use cases or quirks that need to be mentioned.
  • Pages for each MIDI Controller with info on controller specific interaction with CSS and links to online documentation. Each page can also contain pictures related to the controller (someone on this forum made beautiful lay-outs of a controller, which you could then use to construct a visual template with).
  • Documentation pages for user made Reactions. We could upload the JSON file containing the mapping inside a post on the CSS forum, then create a wiki page with documentation on what the Reaction does and how to adjust the Reaction to work with your controller with a link to the post in the CSS forum.
  • Documentation on how to modify the CSS experience, for example on how to use the threading module to create buttons with a timer.
  • Maybe even some Python basics that are specifically useful to users of CSS. For example: how index numbering works is one that returns a lot in questions.

A wiki page would give us the ability to refer to documentation whenever someone asks a question, in stead of having to (re)type it in a comment. It’s also a nice collaborative effort.

This is a great idea Glenn!
We would need an admin to help manage it though…
