Script which makes the MFTs RGB LEDs show the value of a turned knob
Here’s a little script I built over the last couple of days.
It uses the RGB LEDs of the MIDI Fighter Twister to depict the value of the knob that’s being turned.
The last turned knob will also have a blinking LED.
Here’s a video showing it in action.
For a future update I’ll try to use different levels of RGB brightness to show more detail in the knob’s value; if each LED would have 8 levels of brightness I could show the whole 128 spectrum using the 16 LEDs.
Another idea I might attempt is to only use the outer ring of LEDs to show a knob’s value change, in a clockwise fashion.
Update 2024-11-10
Version 2 of this Reaction now uses 8 stages of brightness to show more detail (8 stages x 16 knobs = all 128 velocity value levels being shown).
The controller template of the MFT had to be modified to make it work (because brightness and LED animations are handled on another channel).
I also think I made some mistakes in version 1 with how the encoder’s value got translated to the LED’s. This became obvious in version 2 when adding the level of detail and should have been fixed in this second version.
Both version 2 and the modified controller template can be found in this Google Drive folder (I can’t update the attachments on this post).
