Work-around to save the order of the posts on homepage

Currently it’s not possible to save “Order by” on the homepage of the forum, it always returns to sort the posts by “New”.

Personally I prefer ordering the posts by “Active”.

A work-around is to bookmark the link to the different page in a different order.

In my case that’s the following link: https://community.remotify.io/?order_by=active

Most webbrowsers have a “Bookmark Bar” where you can plop down some bookmarks for easy access, if you want to return to this forum frequently.

I’ve now changed the default sort order to ‘Active’ instead of ‘Newest’.
You’re right as usual Glenn 🙂

Note: I’ve also changed the default order of replies within topics from ‘Oldest’ to ‘Newest’.
If having them ordered by oldest is better, let me know all

Hi John,

I’ve been checking out the new ordering of Answers by “Newest”. Although it’s useful in long threads where you are already up-to-date with the other answers, it can be confusing when you’re trying to get up to speed, because then you need to read in a reverse order and it feels unintuitive.

Also, when posting a new Answer, it gets added at the bottom of the page you’re currently at, while it should be added at the top of the first page because it’s the newest Answer. A reload of the page is needed to set it correctly.

I would suggest setting the order back by “Oldest”. If people want it sorted by “Newest”, then it’s right there under the original post. It is a useful feature to have, but not as default, imo.

Good to know, It should now be sorted by oldest again.
