BOX AND LAUNCH CLIP => AUTOMATICALLY HIGHLIGHTED TRACK WHERE CLIP IS PLAYING

0

Hello

Why aren’t clips in a box only played? The highlighted track becomes the track where the clip is played.

Is it possible to play only the clip and stay on another track at the same time?

Thank you in advance for your response

I believe this is how the session component in Ableton Live functions.
There’s no way to turn this off as far as I know.

Hi John

Thanks for your reply.

That’s exactly what I thought.

There are many inconsistencies in the way the Ableton Live API works, and you are in no way responsible for

these minor bugs.

It simply doesn’t make sense, and it’s just an idea.

I don’t remember if an Ableton Push or an Akai (Launchpad or APC40) has this behavior.

We should be able to change clips without changing tracks at the same time.

The solution I see is to lock the controller to a track via an action, but it’s not a very intuitive solution.

Or I know that you can lock a device to a control/script using the “blue hand” command.

But if the box is managed this way, you shouldn’t disrupt its operation by adding actions that could harm the overall functionality of the script.
