Control Surface Studio handling questions (for OSX)

Hi again 🙂
I have been watching a few of the tutorial videos and am seeing that it must be possible to just click on knobs and buttons in the virtual visual representation of my physical controller when assigning functions, instead of scrolling to the particular knobs and buttons in the controller input list. The blue square then appears on that said button or knob. However, when I click on any button or knobs in the CSS, nothing happens. I still have to go and select in the controller input list. Does this sound like a bug?

The other question is: How do I quit CSS? Usually there is a “Quit…” option, or if anything else, Command+Q works. Nothing… I have to force-quit the application. Again, is this a bug?

I hope I can figure out these things, remotify seems like a super powerful tool!!

Thanks so much !

If I understand correctly, for that, you would need something like a ‘selected parameter’ mapping. This isn’t currently possible, however there will be some selected parameter options in the coming update to Reactions which may be of help here.

you should be able to right click on the App icon and select quit. Which OS are you using?

To close the app with Command+Q is indeed not possible… I also need to use a right click on the app and quit the app that way. There are some things missing for sure.

Hi Annette,

My bad! for some reason I thought you were talking about clicking on a parameter inside Ableton Live and then controlling it with your midi controller.

Its not a bug, we removed that function as people were mistakenly clicking on inputs in the visual representation and changing assignments in their mappings without realising.

Thanks Annette, I’ll make of your suggestion 🙂
