Controlling a *selected* chain’s volume, pan and sends

I can’t figure out how to control a selected chain’s volume, pan and sends inside a drum rack. I want it to work just like the ease of making a script of selecting a regular track and controlling these parameters. Is this possible?

Does this version work for you?

I think it will work in the way you use it in the videos but if you select a Chain from the Detail View at the bottom, it probably won’t work. I still need to test it out some more, to see how everything reacts.

When you select a Chain in the Tracks window, a Blue Hand should appear next to the Chain’s Device in Detail View. The Blue Hand indicates the Chain being controlled by your MIDI Controller.

Ah yes I see. All my drum pads have a simpler in it and they are grouped so I can make macros

I’ve just checked your video again and maybe I’ve got something wrong about how drum pads are set up. I’ve been using a Drum Rack (see Pic 1) to test the script, with which it works prefectly, but in your video I see there are more layers to the Track Folds. So I took a pre-made Drum Track from the Browser (pic 2) and this time, my Controls don’t work.

Now I have something to work with in figuring this out. I’ll come back to it.

Try changing the control type back to Slider and changing the Slider’s settings to those in the included picture. I’ve included the Reactions again but set the Listeners and code to the specs you gave me:

“Slider 3” for volume: CC/15/3
“Slider 4” for panning: CC/15/4

In my case, the Sliders worked immediately when I paired them to the Reactions, without having to change anything in the way the values are processed.

Have you tried using these Reactions inside a separate script, with no other Reactions, just as a test? I’m guessing there are conflicting behaviors inside your script. One mapping cancelling out the other. Otherwise it’s strange to me that the behavior you experience is so different from what I’m seeing.

Once we get this to work, and find out why the strange behavior is happening, I’ll check out how to control the Sends.

Yes, I’ll give it a try. I have a Controller with Sliders to test it on.

Endless encoders are those rotating knobs that you can rotate endlessly; in other words the position they are turned at doesn’t have a fixed value until the software tells it what value it has, which means you can send any value to it as a starting point.
Motorised Sliders also have the functionality that you can send a value to it and the Slider will set itsself to that value.
