Error using 2.8.5 on windows
Win10
Trying to recompile a script that works fine in Live 10. I imported the Script (Pacer A3), and it seems to load (shows using Controller Template: “Nektar Pacer 2”.
Template “Nektar Pacer 2” shows Pacer A3 as using “this template”.
I open the Script and it shows “No controller template selected”.
Not sure what is wrong. Appreciate any help.
Thanks
You should see the menu below. If not, either you haven’t added any controller templates to the ‘my controller templates’ section yet, or you may need to delete the settings.json file and restart Control Surface Studio.
Go to the home directory on your computer and find ‘control surface studio 2.8 > settings > settings.json’

HI Scott,
Yes it looks like something certainly isn’t right with your installation.
Try deleting the CSS application AND the ‘Control surface studio 2.8’ folder which is in your computer’s home directory.
Then download/installation CSS again:

I un-installed the CSS application, and deleted the folder. Downloaded/installed and the interface still does not look correct and does not function. Is there any way at all to take a Remote Script compiled with the old CSS in python 2.7 to 3.0??? I just want to be able to use my Nektar Pacer in Ableton 12 like I can in Ableton 10. tks
You may need to reselect the controller template in the ‘Controller template’ menu in the script manager (the left column).
If the controller template isn’t in the menu, come out of the script manager, click the ‘my controller templates’ tab and import it into here (assuming you have a controller template json file for the Nektar Pacer).
I actually do not see a way to select a controller template in the scripts menu. I’m not sure my install is working properly. Is there any way to send a screen shot in the forum? I click “se App Settings” and it brings up Control Surface Studio settings and I cannot click on any of the options (display grid, etc.). I click “cancel” and “save” and nothing happens. I cant close the “CSS settings screen” and have to exit the program.
Can you edit the original question at the top and add your image there?

Per the other thread, My Scripts under my win 10 install of v2.8.5 does not look like this (See Capture.JPG). There is no “Cog” next to App settings (it says “Se”), etc. When CSS settings pops up, options are listed, but i cant enter any information. I click either cancel or save and nothing happens. I cant get that window to close. The only way I get out of it is to close the program. Did I need to uninstall old versions of CSS prior to installing 2.8.5? I’m at a loss. I just want to update my old CSS to python 3.0 so I can work in Ableton 12. thanks
