How to send basic midi notes?

Hey folks! I can’t work out a way to send basic midi notes to devices to control synths/drum racks.. etc

I’m trying to set-up functionality similar to the Launchpad where in one mode it’s a session box controller for launching clips.. etc and in another mode (User1 on the launchpad) you can use it to send midi notes to control drum racks / synths.. etc.

It feels like i’m missing something painfully obvious but can’t for the life of me work it out.

If anyone can help me that would be so amazing.

You can’t generate midi notes from nowhere. CSS takes incoming midi messages sent from your midi controller and attaches Ableton specific functionality to them.

So there is no way for CSS to attach “track in” to midi messages instead of just “remote-control”?
