newbie woes

1) The software never remembers my password

2) I have mapped the Ableton folders as described.. the tutorial videos seem out of date and doesn’t reflect the interface or it’s significantly different on windows.. I have no My First Script. So i create one, but when i open it i just get a plain white screen after CSS hanging for a bit. I’ve tried running the app as administrator but doesn’t make a difference 🙁

Do i maybe need to tweak some folder permissions maybe, so a general user can modify files in some directories?

In options i have the following settings:

Abelton Live Location: C:ProgramDataAbletonLive 11 SuiteProgram
Live Version Folder Location: C:UsersmattyAppDataRoamingAbleton
Midi Remote Script Folder Location: C:ProgramDataAbletonLive 11 SuiteResourcesMIDI Remote Scripts
Log.txt location: C:UsersmattyAppDataRoamingAbletonLive 11.3.3PreferencesLog.txt
Python version 3 set – i don’t actually have a version of Python as such installed though
unless it’s part of Ableton??

Windows 11 / Ableton Live 11.3.3

Thanks!

Hi,

Here is a video going through the recent changes to the UI in version 2.8: https://youtu.be/GeMFgf1VRwU?si=wB7ZpWrWv7plg-Rz
(We also have a new tutorial video on the way using the updated User Interface, which will go over the basics).

If the App is running slow, you just need to clear the log:

Yes the App doesn’t currently store passwords.
