Problems upgrading to 12.1 of Live

Mac user w Midi Fighter Twister.  Upgrading Live to 12.1 hasn’t been so easy.  Turns out part of my problem was keeping old versions of live was causing some confusion as to where CSS should store files.  So I uninstalled all old versions and reinstalled 12.1 with the overwrite option.  Now I’m able to configure and install scripts into Live.

I can then enable the scripts in the Live Settings, however I’m getting the “This control does not exist in your Session” msg for all the knobs and buttons.

I’m only trying to do the most basic stuff where each knob & button controls a track volume and mute.  But I’ve got a lot of versions from trying different setups and none are working.

Some of the versions of my scripts go back a few CSS versions so I’m thinking maybe I should start from scratch.  But I have no idea which templates to use.  Got a lot of different versions of Controller Templates and scripts since I’ve been a CSS user for a while.  But I tend to set and forget once things work and am kind of lost.

Also, after I reset the MFT to factory default, do I need to install a certain configuration?

Suggestions?

Well, no one answers these msgs and after a lot of trial and error I found part of a solution myself so I’ll jot it down for anyone else having similar.

1) seems like the MFT factory default settings are fine – That’s the mode CSS expects. So I didn’t need to load any special setup using the MFT utility.

2) I downloaded the latest MFT Controller Template in CSS from Remotify, but none of my scripts would work with it.

It seems like the Buttons and Knobs have been renamed to be sequential and no longer relate to the actual controller. So Knob1 + Button2 work for controller 1, Knob3 and Button4 for Controller 2 and so on. WTF – very unintuitive!

3) So I found an older MFT controller template in my local CSS scripts folder where it’s simpler. So Knob1 and Button1 go with Controller1 and so on. Much easier to map buttons.

This let me quickly map the 16 buttons and knobs and get what I need again. So I’m back in biz.

Now I just have to figure out how to map the effect send with Push + Twist. Looks like Mode does that. Hoping that won’t take me 10 hours to figure out….
