Script for APC40 MK2

Hello everyone

I’m a beginner so please excuse if my understanding is limited. I find CSS great for controllers that have no surface control script pre-installed. However, I’m really still on the fence about its use for controllers that already have script, especially the APC40 mk2.

So from what I understand, according to these posts (https://community.remotify.io/questions/question/override-controller-script-default-mappings/ and https://community.remotify.io/questions/question/modifying-an-existing-controller-script/ )  it’s not possible to change the original script with CSS so that we would keep the core functions of the original script and have some customized CSS functions on top of it.

Which means that to both benefit from what this controller originally brings, as well as added function through CSS, we have to build everything from scratch in CSS ; and for that we should be at least able to reconstruct basic functionalities of the original script in order not to lose the main advantages of the device.

I found several templates (the one proposed by CSS by default but I think is mussing some controls, or this one : https://community.remotify.io/questions/question/akai-apc-40-mk2-controller-template/ as well as this one : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1H9qpncgKBlLD0EVhTDgtqtzLoqwCDjly ).

However, what I need is a SCRIPT that can reproduce core functionalities, and I was wondering if someone could share it so we can build on it. I have the impression that great progress has been made thanks to Glenn Verhaeghe  who manage to partially reproduce the color matching of the clips in Live to the grid of the APC40 mk2 (https://community.remotify.io/questions/question/match-ableton-clip-color-to-reflect-as-led-state-on-midi-pads-for-akai-apc40-mk2/ )

So, I would be super grateful if anyone can share their script for APC40 MK2 and as well as the templates they used with it (as there are several). Hopefully together we can further improve a script. Now Akai sells the device again, I’m sure many people would like to develop their own script with CSS, add new stuffs, etc.

This is exactly what I’m trying to do. I just need to modify the APC40 mk2 so I can run 2 at the same time and have the user mappings work independently.

I don’t want to start totally from scratch and try to figure out how to reprogram the entire thing including colors of clip launching pads etc. It seems pretty complicated.

It would be incredibly useful if CSS had premade templates for popular ableton controllers to start with so you could just modify them as needed. I’m new to this software and testing it out, if I can’t figure out how to make my APC40s work like factory but with mods the software will not be useful to me.
