Akai APC 64 – Creating and using a script for APC64

I am trying to create a custom script for Akai APC64. The idea is to use a Custom layout of the APC64 and map it to specific clips and sliders in Ableton Live. While creating the control template it is identifying the controller inputs from APC64 properly. However, when the script is loaded in Ableton it does not respond to the controller inputs. I can see the custom session box in live, but the sliders and pads do not seem to work.

I tried using the controller template for Korg nanoKontrol2 from the CSS website and the scripts created using it is working as expected. I am attaching the controller script json files. Could you tell me what I am doing wrong?

TIA

I rechecked the MIDI port assignments. Initially I just changed the existing port assignment that used live’s own APC controller script and changed it to the one I created. Since that did not work, I tried removing that, resetting Live settings and assigning again selecting the script and variously selecting the APC64, and the ports 2 to 4 (one at a time). One thing I noticed was that irrespective of which port I selected, the bottom section continued to show just APC 64 (Port n). Interestingly I noticed the same behavior when I tried another script created for Launchpad Pro MK3. Is there something I need to do on APC 64 to make this work (like turning it on in User mode or something like that?).

TIA
