APC Key 25 Endless Encoder Problem
Hi,
I tried to map my APC key 25 with css. All the controllers are working in Ableton except endless encoders. Pads and keys are fine. CSS recognizes the encoders and I can map them but in Ableton live I can not use them. Even if ableton recognizes the encoders, midi signal is working on the upper right section, there is no control. Need your help on this one.
So when you turn the encoders, you see them light up in the Controller Template?
Have you checked the Mode of the Mappings that use the Encoders? If they are set to a Mode that’s not active, they would not work.
Could you maybe share your script?
Endless Encoder on an APC20:
Control Type: Relative
Left: 127
Right: 1
Number of steps: 127
The higher the number of steps the less sensitive (between 0 – 127). 1 is extremely sensitive.
For a reason I don’t know this does not work with midi mapping inside of Ableton. It only works if the mapping is done through the scripting inside Control Surface Studio.
Also when you turn the knob slow it works as expected. But when turning the knob faster it changes speed. That is why I tried to match the sensitivity (number of steps) with the value of faster knob rotation.
If someone can fix the speed change issue. Please help

Check the ‘MIDI Input Velocity Settings’ section for the Controller Input (in the Controller Template).
Is it set to absolute? it should be this and not ‘relative’ if the knob sends values 0-127.
