Automapping layers
Hello!:)
I’m an absolute noob and I would like to ask for assistance to set up layered macro automapping.
For instance, my controller would get automapped ( Xtouch mini / Midimix) to the first 8 macro on a device, then switch to the next set of 8 after a press of a button. Where do I need to start?
Thanks!
I’m sorry but I don’t understand your question. What do you mean with Banking Device Parameter?
The only things that were implemented in the script were:
– The 4 sliders which control sets of 4 macro controls
– The device being controlled by the sliders is the selected device on the selected track
– The 2 buttons above sliders 1 and 2, which control the set of 4 macro controls being controlled. They also light up when they can be used.
If you’re asking about this second point, then you might want to look into the “path menu”, which is a gray button of an upwards pointing hand. It lets you tell the script where an Action should take place. (I’ve added some example pictures)
If this is not what you’re asking, please try to rephrase the question.
I kind of plunged you into the use of Reaction mappings with my script. I made this tutorial about the UI inside a Reaction, a sort of guided tour of all its elements and what you can do with them, if you want to learn about how to use them.
If you want to know more about the other mappings, then I’m not the person to give you answers because I’ve kind of ignored them and went straight to the Reaction mapping.
I apologize, I confused myself. Now I see tat you have already explained how to switch between the set of macros.
Excellent, I sent you a request to access the docs on the drive 🙂
I got even more confused. I had the chance today to try your script on the MIDI MIX and it’s not woking, only button 13 and 14 is illuminated, othervise does nothing.
I tried to log, but once ableton is open the remotify app gets extremly sluggish and freezing within 2 minutes..
Sorry I might overlooked something, I don’t know. At this point i’m feeling exremly stupid. 😀
The other thing, pleased confirm if i understood it right about the parameters. The slider movement vill give a value to m1, for example m1 +1 (first slider moved) this will map the first parameter to slider 1. That’s why you gave m1 == 0 in the beginning because 0 equals to no parameter, the first slider m1 +1 the second m1 +2 etc. Then m1 == 4 represents the second bank of parameters, so thats why you sad that m1 == 4 +3 ( slidier giving a value to m1) would be parameter 7 on the device. Right?
Why it is not easyer to use the device parameter setting with the instructuon to modify m1 than using reactions?
My first guess would be, becauese is giving me a deeper understanding of what’s gong on under the hood.
