Device control via selected track (not track #)

In Remotify, you can set up device controls to control devices on the *selected* track, but it seems like in CSS it’s based on track number. Is there a way to set it up so that the knobs on my nanokontrol 2 control the devices on the selected track. So far the only way I can find is setting track to 1, relative to session box, then position the first cell of the session box over the track whose devices I want control over. This is not ideal, obviously. I’m confused as to why this is so straightforward in Remotify, but so convoluted in CSS.
