Drum Rack chain Selection disabled when using any CSS script
Hi,
I found a bug with the new version of CSS and the Drum Rack Chain selection:
As soon as I enable any CSS script (even an empty one) the drum rack chain selection stop working, I will attach a video to show this behaviour:

As you can see from the video I just used a newly created CSS script (I used the beta for convenience since I can reload script, but I encountered the bug first on the live 12.2 stable version).
Just loading the script, without even assigning any midi devices, disables the ability to select drum rack chains.

I’m not entirely sure what the video is showing.
You say you’re unable to select drum rack chains, what do you mean exactly?
the video looks to me like you’re selecting the various drum pads with your cursor?
I’m not sure how one of our scripts could be causing this.
Have you added an custom code / reactions would could be blocking you from performing these actions?

I didn’t receive any notification about your reply.
I still have this issue and I’m using the newest version of CSS 3.0.2.
I attached two more videos to show the behaviour. For this test I created a very simple controller template and a mode selector assigned to one button, with nothing else active.
I disabled all other MIDI devices and scripts in Ableton and tried selecting the drum rack chains after enabling the script in the menu. As you can see, the behavior is completely different. Please test it on your end and let me know if you experience the same problem.

This looks like it could be something to do with the blue hand selection.
Try turning off ‘Device Selection Follows Track Selection’ in the script settings:

I just tested it and yes I see the same issue.
I noticed that clicking a chain 3 times allows you to select it
Thank you, I noticed that too but it’s impossible to select multiple chains to group them right?
Have you found anything useful to what can be the cause to that?

You can select multiple pads in the chain list: (hold command and click in Mac)

That is exactly what I’m trying to do!
I’m selecting individual drum rack cells via the Ableton Mixer, and the selection is inconsistent, plus I cannot drag them into a group (inside the drum rack). That is happening only when using a CSS script, and as I already mentioned you don’t need to write anything, just use an empty remote script and it’s gonna exhibit this issue!
