Elgato Streamdeck – anyone ever used one with remotify?

I have a couple of streamdeck’s (a regular and an XL) and love using them with my job in event lighting. Just wondering if anyone has made anything cool using them? The feedback of buttons with screens behind them is a very powerful interface!

If positioned near knobs on another controller, the screens could act as labels for the currently selected track or the names of macro controls (like on a Push)

Alternatively, if it was possible to pull clip names, it could make a great clip launcher (though not one I’d want to hit too hard!)

It could be amazing in a similar way to TouchAble and some other iPad based apps.

It’s possible to send midi and OSC messages from it using plugins or 3rd party software like Bitfocus Companion (open source) or ShowCockpit (a paid, midi controller app that’s popular in the lighting world)

I’m wondering if anyone here has already done some cool stuff or what stuff I could potentially leverage remotify to help with.

It’s been a while since I looked at remotify and I need to get up to speed with the current version.

Eg. Can I pull strings from ableton for track and macro control labels and send them via OSC?

Open to any help, ideas or other directions 🙂

Happy controllering!

Hi Deadunit,

There is a company called sideshowfx which has been able to make stream deck profiles for Ableton which has visual feedback of the channel strips etc.. I believe they achieve this via the midi plugin found in the stream deck market place. So I defo think this would be possible to achieve but I don’t have a clue on how. I hope this helps.
