Encoder Type in Online App vs Control Surface Studio

Hi there,
Happy New Year 🙂

I had a question about a difference between the web app and the control surface studio app. I played around with my beatstep (not the pro) and the web app for a bit to figure out if I can find a workable setting that allows my endless knobs can be programmed to work smoothly without jumps etc. in Ableton.
I tried all kinds of settings and made myself a note that I have to set my knobs on the Beatstep: as Rel #2 (obviously for CC messages), and the remotify as Relative Smooth signed bit.
I finally made the move to invest in the downloadable application and cannot find anywhere where I can differentiate the encoder type, where you can choose between Relative Smooth Complement, Relative Smooth Signed Bit, and Relative Smooth Binary Offset.

I haven’t come to the point in my setting up the controller with the control surface studio to see if this matters, but at this point I am slightly worried. Can anyone advise?

Hi Annette,

Happy New Year! sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner (I see you have already worked it out)
However, you should be able to define your knob as relative in the Controller Template and simply use it as relative by default in your scripts mappings.
You can also override the Controller Template inside your script mapping by changing the ‘Control’ option to ‘Custom’ and then select the Control Type you want to use.
