How to use midi notes without having to smash them at full velocity?

I can get the pads on my controller to do all the functions I need them to, but ONLY if I slam them at maximum (127) velocity.

The manual offers no comprehnsible clue to me. I’ve spend several horus hacking away at random settings but cannot make progress.

Let’s take one example: turning on and off a device.

How can I do this so that any velocity above 0 will toggle the device on or off?

Can you set your pads to full velocity on your midi controller?
Currently mappings (other than Reactions) do require specific velocity values to be hit in order to activate the mapping. We do have a solution for this in the works though.

A quick update regarding this. In CSS3 we now have the new ‘between’ options in controller input settings forms. You can set the on / off values to be a range of values rather than just a specific value.
Example:
On: between – 1 and 127
Off: equal to – 0
This is configuration is now the default when adding new buttons, pads and keys to your controller template
