I have a MacBook Pro 2019 intel. I did download the Mac intel version and after the install went to apps to open. had the error similar to whet your page has for newer m1/2 Macs.

when the pop up came up I canceled and did a reboot and clicked again same pop up but I clicked bin….I no longer had the app in my applications. I removed the install files from my downloads and emptied the trash and did a reboot. downloaded the Mac intel software again and now the icon in apps does not show. checkked hidden apps NOPE and made sure the permissions were ok from the download files that were in my download.

Resolved –
somehow I had issues on the initial install and never had the pop up to allow/trust – I only had an option of close or bin in the pop up. I triple checked to make sure I had Mac intel download.

after clicking close a few times and nothing happened, I selected BIN. this removed the program from may apps.

I downloaded the app and started the process again, but this time it was loading a few files back to my download directory and never put the app in my applications.

I spent a bit of time trying to figure what happened. frustrated I started to inquire about a reversal of my funds.

John wrote and one thing he asked was what unzip utility I was using.
I have a few and each one did the same so I know it was those.

I ventured back to a google search and asked about opening DMG files and saw references on ISO loading-mounting. I saw one option on opening a dmg on my Mac was discimagemounter.app- selected and things were looking good.
I did have to go into the permissions to allow. I never had an issue when un-zipping files nor clicking on a new app and it was an automatic load…..I do not know why the Mac changed the and removed the immediate option to open a dmg file and made me select on reloading…..glad it’s working and hope to see what the app can do for me-
