Make clip fire Momentary
Hi. I am using my Launchpad to trigger 64 different chords that I’ve put in the session mode as 64 different clips. This works by hard mapping them via ableton midi mapping to my 64 Launchpad pads. But it would be even cooler if I could use the control script for this, so that I can always utilise the 64 pads to trigger 64 different clips on whatever selected track I have.
However, while setting this up via actions, I am struggling to make this trigger function as Momentary. even tho on my controller, I have changed the pads to function as momentary – i.e. the clip is only playing as long as I am pressing the pad. Simillar to the gate launch settings in the ableton clip view.
How do I set this up?
Thanks.
I don’t think this is possible with the session box mapping type, but in the reactions mapping type you have following actions:
live object model > clip > fire
and
live object model > clip > stop
You could have 2 action blocks (one for fire and another for stop)
Add a condition in each which checks the latest velocity value of the button which you want to stop stop the clip
Only fire the clip if pad velocity is 127
only stop the clip if pad velocity is 0
Does that help?
