Moved from Windows to macOS – Remotify keeps generating broken scripts (invalid character errors)

Hey everyone,

I recently switched from Windows to macOS and since then CSS 2.9 has been giving me a really strange issue.

The script gets generated and saved in the correct place, but Ableton just won’t load it.

As soon as I open Ableton, I get this error in the Remotify log:

What confuses me is that this happens even when I create a completely new script with a fresh template.
Literally an empty script with no changes can already throw this error. And it happens a lot.
On my Windows laptop I never had this problem.

Does anyone know what causes this on macOS or how to fix it?

Thanks!

Check the names of your mappings.
Don’t use – in the name

But that’s the thing. It appears even if I dont use anything like that

Well that’s the reason for the error which you posted.
It’s a scene highlight mapping with the name something like this: highlighted scene – up id 6

Yeah, I figured.

But there is literally nothing in this script.
