Moving Cue Point in Arrangment view to start playback from there

0

Good morning everyone! Here’s a brief description of my setup:

I use the APC64 and Minilab 3 to control Live and plugins, plus the Twister to map VSTs. The APC64 is a good controller, but it’s oriented towards clip management. For example, it doesn’t have the Loop function, but it does have the Shift+Play function that allows you to start playback from the point where it was last stopped. The Minilab, on the other hand, when in DAW mode, has large pads that turn into buttons, has a loop function, but most importantly, it has a particularly useful feature: it allows you to move the cue point in the timeline using the knob dedicated to changing programs in the various VSTs. This is extremely handy because I also work with an MPC One, and when the cue point is moved, the playhead in the MPC One also moves, allowing me to always start from the same point when editing a MIDI track.

The issue is that now the MPC One and the Minilab are quite far apart, and I can’t move them. The Twister is right next to the MPC 🙂

I have already tested the reaction found here on the forum for scrubbing the timeline, but it’s not what I’m looking for. In the reaction, I tried changing the action from Scrub to Song Position, but in the second reaction, the value -2.0 cannot be accepted, so when I move a knob, it makes the first movement and then stays stuck there. The two conditions were set like this:

  • Current knob value – value greater than – previous knob value – 2.0

  • Current knob value – value less than – previous value – 2.0 (here I cannot insert a negative value for song position).

But I can’t get the script to work. If anyone could explain how to proceed, I would be grateful! I am working with the latest version of CSS and the latest version of Live. Thanks!

What are the velocity values which the knob sends when you turn if left and right?

Ho John and thank you as always! I’ve made another thread, and you have replied ti that too! The issue was related ti the Beats values. 2.0 was too much and i can’t see the play head. I’ll reply to the other post!
