Multiple NI Jam in 1 script

Hi All,

I have 3 Jam’s and would like to make 1 big template script for running those 3 as a 24channel controller surface in Ableton 11.

Already found a script for such a thing, the problem isn’t the touch strips, this works, but the launch of clips can’t be controlled for more then 8 channel per view.

Is it even possible to have more then 1 device in 1 script?

Do I need to set each Jam to another Midi channel with the NI tool?

Either
1. have a separate script per Jam unit, each has its own session box (red box). Position them next to eachother using the offset position options in the session box mapping type.
2. have them all using 1 script but you would need to connect them together outside of Ableton Live in some way (either with exertnal hardware or software), so that Ableton sees them as 1 midi controller which you can then connect to 1 script.

Yes separate midi channels / midi data would required for each unit.

first I will try it with 2 jams 😉

The thing run into are 2 things:

  • How can I fast change all knobs/sliders/encoder etc to another channel, or should I do it one by one in controller editor?
  • When I have 2 jams hooked on ableton I can use the 4 arrow knows on the left to change from channel 1-8 to 9-16. But then nog only the sliderers then change, what is good, but the buttons for launching clips is changing on both jams as well.

Since you are using 2 different Json for it are you willing to post them ?
