Mystery problem with BCR 2000 Rotary Encoder Feedback from Ableton volume faders
Mystery problem with BCR 2000 Rotary Encoder Feedback form Ableton volume faders
Months ago, I created a script for the Behringer BCR 2000. In this script, I use the rotary encoders to control volume faders in Ableton Live, including feedback on the LED rings of the encoders. This script is a bit older—I suspect it was made with version 2.8, but I’m not entirely sure. It still works fine, including feedback to the BCR 2000.
Some time ago, I started working on a new script for the BCR 2000, again assigning rotary encoders to the volume faders. However, I am now facing an issue: the feedback is no longer working properly. When I enable the feedback option I can no longer control the volume faders in Ableton Live. They get stuck in a low volume position and behave erratically. If I disable feedback, I can use the encoders to control the volume, but there is no visual feedback, and the faders are not picked up when scrolling through fader banks.
At first, I thought the problem was with my PC. To rule this out, I installed a fresh copy of Ableton Live and Remotify on a second PC with only one MIDI interface and the BCR 2000 (I use the BCR and BCF controllers only via MIDI, not USB). However, the issue persists: the volume encoders do not respond correctly, and the feedback does not work as expected.
To check if the problem was with my BCR controller, I tested a second BCR 2000, but the issue remained the same. Strangely enough, the volume faders on my BCF 2000 work perfectly, which suggests that the problem is specifically related to the rotary encoders on the BCR 2000.
Interestingly, my old script still works perfectly, providing correct feedback and smooth control of the linked faders in Ableton Live.
I’ve tested everything I can think of. Who can help me further? As far as I can tell, I’ve ruled out all possible causes. This is a crucial function, so any help is greatly appreciated! Perhaps a small tweak in the script could solve the issue? Any ideas? All help is welcome!
Thanks!

P.S. If I edit the older, original script that works fine, it is also broken after regenerating the script with Remotify. It has the with the same problem as the new script.
