Not able to import a script created in remotify.io into CSS

Hi,

First, thank you for creating CSS and Remotify. I have successfully created a script to launch clips in Ableton Live 10 using remotify.io for my Midi Fighter 64. And while that task was not easy, from a novice’s point of view, I think remotify.io makes so much more sense than CSS. I really hope CSS will quickly be updated make more sense because the user interface of CSS is really disappointingly user-unfriendly. One of the problems I am experiencing is that I am not able to successfully import the script I created in remotify.io. I have tried importing the .json file and .py file and the .pyc files but CSS doesn’t recognize the templates. It would be a great way to learn how to reverse engineer the script I created in remotify.io if I could load it into CSS. Is this feature possible? Will be a planned upcoming feature for a later version?

Thanks,

Craig

Hi Craig,

Unfortunately json files from the Web App aren’t compatible with Control Surface Studio.
To setup clip launching / Red box / Session Box in Control Surface Studio is just a matter of adding a ‘Session Box’ Mapping type, the same as in the Web App.
We have a bunch of CSS Video Tutorials on the way very soon, one is all about how to add custom Red Box functionality to your Scripts.

If you’re having trouble getting to grips with Control Surface Studio, we have a Step By Step Tutorial here:
