Problem getting X-Touch Mini LED button light to stay on
I am trying to get the LED of a button on my Behringer X-Touch Mini to stay on when I press it. I created a Track Mute mapping and it mutes the track correctly. I have LED Feedback Override set so that the LED is On when 0 and Off when 127. If I mute the track from within Ableton, the LED goes on (which is what I want). If I mute it from an X-Touch One, the LED on the Mini also goes on. It also correctly goes off when I unmute either in Ableton or on the X-Touch One. When I press the X-Touch Mini button and hold it down, the LED is on, but it goes off as soon as I release the button, although the button release doesn’t unmute the track (which is what I want, of course). In the Control Template, the Switch Type is “Momentary” and set to On if 127 and Off if 0.
I tried creating a Reaction to turn the LED on, but wasn’t able to get it to work. Does anyone have any suggestions? It’s as if the button sends an “Off” when I release it, which turns the LED off but doesn’t unmute the track. I’ve spent a few hours fiddling with this and am stuck. Any help gratefully received!
It may be because of this:
In the Control Template, the Switch Type is “Momentary” and set to On if 127 and Off if 0.
Try changing this to Toggle.
Also, (if the above doesn’t work) disable LED feedback in the mapping and see what feedback you’re getting to it. This may help pin down the issue.
Thanks John. If I set it to Toggle, it mutes as the button goes down then unmutes as it comes up. It’s as if it’s sending a button press as it goes down and another one as it goes up.
I think I’ll just give up on this. I’ve spent a few hours fiddling with everything I can think of, without success. Muting and soloing works, it’s just that there is no LED feedback. For now, I’ll just look at the screen. Hopefully, as I learn more about all of this, a solution will present itself 🙂
