Script not controlling Ableton
My script is seleted in Ableton but is not controlling anything. I followed the instructions on the videos several times. I have tried everything but the script is not working. It loads into Ableton and does nothing. I have done many tests and single mapping message script but I cannot get it to control anything. The midi channel was on 1 but the template for NovationLCXL MIDI was on channel 7. I changed everything in the editor to channel 1. Still nothing is woriking even though Ableton says script is Active.. Please help.
This Controller is the first of three MIDI Mixers: 2 Novation LaunchContrl XL and 1 Akai Midimix in the middle between the two Novation LCXL’s. This controller: css a mixer is for Tracks 1-8. The Midimix for Tracks 9-16 on Midi channel 3, and the other Novation LCXL for Tracks 17-24 on MIDI channel 11. Nobs 1-24 are for Send 1, Send 2, Send 3. The sliders are for TRack Volume 1-8. The buttons 9-16 are for Track mute 1-8.

The python script isn’t useful to look at, the chances it hasn’t generated properly are very low. It would be more useful if you could export some of the mappings that aren’t working properly Please limit yourself to exporting the minimum possible mappings (at most 5). We don’t need the whole list, just some that are not working for you to see if it works on our system.
You can export mappings by selecting them with the checkbox and pressing export. You can then upload that JSON file to the forum.
Do the knobs on your controller template (right side of CSS) turn green when you turn them on the physical controller? If so, it means the correct MIDI messages are registered. If not, you’ll have to check if the correct channels and CC’s are selected for each knob.
By turning MIDI Learn ON you can see the incoming MIDI messages at the bottom of the right side of CSS
Does the log show any errors? You can find the log by dragging on the black line above the eye symbol, on the right side of CSS. See pic below.
If nothing shows up in the log, check if your current version of ableton matches the “log.txt location”‘s version in the app settings of CSS.
