Showing “Bar/Fill” style LEDs
Just bought CSS3 yesterday. I am using it with a Behringer X-Touch Mini, and plan to use it with my X-Touch One too. The default behaviour for that controller (which uses the MasterControl surface) is to light up all of the LEDs from 0 to the current value. CSS3 just lights the LED for the current value on the X-Touch Mini.
It’s just a cosmetic thing, but I really liked the default MasterControl way of doing it. It matches the look of the knobs in Ableton Live.
Does anyone know if this is possible? I had a good look around; even tried ChatGPT which recommended hacking the Python or JSON that is output by CSS!

On the Quick Start Guide for the X One Mini I found this table. Sending a value on the Global Channel from CC1 to CC8 changes the behavior of the LED Ring. While sending from CC9 to CC16 changes what LEDs will light up. You can set up these CC’s onto encoders inside your Controller Template, then use a Reaction to change the behavior CC’s.
I’m not entirely sure what is possible inside the other mappings in terms of LED Feedback. I see it’s possible to send values to different knobs at the same time but I don’t know if the sent values will translate to the values your controller uses to light up the LEDs. Maybe JohnC can shed light on the possibilities?
I’m also guessing Global Channel is Channel 0 inside the Controller Template?
Thanks Glenn. That was VERY helpful. Well… I spent a few hours trying to get it to work, but it’s now going (see answer below).

Maybe it isn’t even necessary to use the second row of the table. That second row might just be meant as a direct link to the LEDs. If you just send any value from 0 to 127 to the channel that your encoder operates on (so not the global channel), it might automatically be translated to the correct LEDs on your controller.
