Tempo Control and Tempo Fine Control
Hi John,
Is it possible to assign tempo control and tempo fine control to a buttons instead of encoders?
I need to assign the bank navigation buttons (APC40) to tempo controls:
– Bank_Select_Up_button: Increase tempo
– Bank_Select_Down_button: Decrease tempo
– Bank_Select_Right_button: Increase tempo (fine control)
– Bank_Select_Left_button: Decrease tempo (fine control)
Thanks!
Hi,
There’s no way to do this directly in Remotify at the moment as Ableton’s framework only allows for encoder or slider elements for tempo control by default.
However, I just did some digging and have put together some custom code which you can put into your script. With it you can set buttons to increase & decrease tempo by custom amounts (I used up/down by 1 bpm and up/down by 0.30 bpm, very handy!).
Fire over an email to me (john@remotify.io) and I’ll pass it to you. If you’re not sure how to do it I can help you out there too 🙂

Hi, I need to do that. Increase and decrease tempo with buttons up and down. Would it be possible to send css code and explain how to use it?
I’m trying the same thing. If it would be possible to share the custom script, that would be great.
Does this work like you want it?
I don’t own an APC 40 but I tested it on my MIDI Fighter Twister and then used the Remotify Template for the Akai APC40 MK2 to assign the bank buttons.
