Unable to link 2 session boxes for session navigation

I have 2 independent scripts that are successfully running their respective session boxes for all expected functions except for the fact that I am unable to link them for session navigation as is shown in your video.

I have only attempted session navigation on one of the session boxes scripts and it moves accordingly.

The other session box has an offset and starts out each new ableton project appropriately positioned, beginning where the first session box ends.

Combination mode is selected for both Session boxes.

Please advise.

Hey scottzant, I was just trying out combination mode and noticed that sometimes (don’t know when exactly) my navigation buttons wouldn’t work at all.

In my setup, I’m using 2 scripts for the same controller (MIDI Fighter Twister) where one script only has a mapping that creates a Session Box with an offset (combination mode turned on) while the other script has the normal Session Box (also with combination mode turned on) + all the Session Box Navigation controls (and some other mappings).

I’m guessing that Ableton makes the mostly empty script the main script sometimes, but because it doesn’t contain any Navigation control, I can’t move any of the Session Boxes. Ableton does draw both boxes.

I was able to fix it by temporarily removing the “mostly empty” scripty in the settings (by setting control surface to None), reloading Ableton, then reselecting the removed script. Maybe fiddeling around with the scripts in the settings will solve your problem as well?

Hi Glenn,
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
My issues were resolved by upgrading to version 3.
Cheers.

Great! Good to hear it got fixed.
