Hi Guys,

Another Issue I am having with my remote script is that the Up & Down Buttons for my Session Box only work intermittently.

When I open my Live session it seems to be a totally random choice as to whether the Up & Down buttons I have selected for my session box navigation function or not – it relays the message ‘Unable to move session Box there’

I cannot simply just restart the project and it functions again, it seems to have a mind of its own in this regard as to when it starts working again.

Hi, I suddenly have the same problem with two different scripts and I even didn’t change anything doing with the session box.

I tried:

  • export/import all the mappings in both scripts and re-installed
  • deleted the session box mapping, exported/imported, re-added the session box mapping and installed again

Anything else I could try ?

Update: sometimes the problem seems to disappear with:

  • select all modes and mappings except “session box” mapping
  • export checked items
  • import this new json file as a new script
  • add a new “session box” mapping

This problem is back again without changing anything in session box behavior/script and it get’s even weird – even when the second “linked” script isn’t active in Ableton Live, this error occurs after loading a new or old project. But it works with the first loaded “startup” project starting Live ? And there are no entries or errors in the log. Anything we can test or infos we could provide to solve this problem ? Regards, mj

Check you have added enough tracks to your Ableton session before attempting to move it and see if that avoids the issue.

Hi John, thank you for coming back. Yes, there are more tracks than the session box width (8 tracks). Also, it only works with the session loaded right with the start of Ableton Live and stops working after loading any other session or a new project. For me this is 100% reproducible also with two fresh CSS scripts only containing session box mapping and session box navigation with activated combine mode. This is on macOS 26.6.1, CSS 3.1.1 and Ableton Live 12.4.3.
