Undo History Filled With “MIDI Controller Action”

0

Hello! I just started using Control Surface Studio earlier today to try and remap my APC40 MKII’s faders to some expression macros. I’ve never been good at coding, so this software’s been a great help so far!

The problem I’m running into with my script is that whenever I turn an encoder or slide a fader on my APC, my undo history populates with a ton of “MIDI Controller Action” states. I did some A/B testing on a track’s volume with my Novation 61SLMkIII and I only received one “Change ‘Track Volume'” notification in the undo history. I had a look through the forum and found a post that mentioned trying the different takeover modes, I gave it a shot but am still getting the same results.

Using Live 12.4.5b1 on an m1 Mac. If anyone’s got any advice, please send my way! Thanks!

The way internal midi mapping and our midi mappings work is different.
Due to the customisation options of our mapping types, fader/knob style mappings send individual changes to ableton with each midi message update. So if you have a fader mapped to volume for example, each midi velocity value received from the fader 0 – 127, updates the volume parameter individually, which is what is likely producing an individual undo event each time.
