Using Two DJTT Midi Fighter Twister Controllers in a single or individual css script(s)?
Hi everyone!
I have two MFT’s and use them simultaneously in Ableton Live 11. Currently, I have css scripts for each controller and changed the second controller’s midi channel to: #10 (buttons/switches), #9 (encoders/knobs) and #11 side buttons (global). This way, both can be used in the same Ableton Live set.
Before I open Ableton Live, I plug in both controllers in order to have them synced with my current settings in Ableton. Otherwise, they won’t sync unless I manually change scenes, for example, just to get Ableton to send MIDI to the controllers and reflect current values and positions.
The problem is since both are use the same name identifier by Ableton Live (and CSS), sometimes the first and second become “reversed” under the Control Surface settings in Ableton Live. Whether I plug in the first controller before the other, it is random which is the ‘first’ and ‘second’ controller identified by Ableton Live that is mapped to the corresponding CSS script. I would like to just set it and forget and have adjust the controller assignment each time Ableton Live ‘reverses’ them.
I tried DJTT’s “midi_fighter_twister_firmware_20180309_four_pack” files which effectively changes the ID of a MFT but some weird bugs occur; I guess because it is also outdated according to the utility app.
I appreciate any input regarding this!
