Code to make Actions play out after holding a button for some time

Hi all,

After finding a way to use timers without having Ableton freeze up, I wanted to make a way to quickly make timed_actions with, where the timer runs as long as you’re holding a button down + an action plays out after the timer has run out.

In this Google Drive Folder you can find a user.py file, documentation (on how to set up the file and how to use the code) and a JSON file with example Reactions (the examples are set up for the MIDI Fighter Twister with the default MFT Template). The same examples are added to this post.

If you have trouble understanding any of it, or with getting it to work, give me a shout in the comments.

If you have an idea on how you want to use it but can’t get it to work, give a description of what you want to achieve + with which template, and I’ll see if I can make a Reaction for you.

I’m thinking it might be better to show the way this code functions with some examples but I could use your help with some ideas for good examples. Real-life use-cases.
