Led feedback issue in Live 12 with my controllers

Good morning everyone and happy Sunday. I’m here to understand if what’s happening with my peripherals is “normal” behavior or if there’s something wrong. I’ve already contacted Ableton support, but the answers were vague, and we haven’t gone beyond the “change cable or USB port” suggestion.

Let me explain what’s happening: connected to Live are an APC64, a Minilab3 in Arturia Mode (remote control is not activated, it’s just a MIDI device), a Traktor Z1 MKII mapped with Control Surface Studio, and a TD17 set to Generic and not Vendor, to avoid conflicts with my Clarett2i audio interface.

Before mapping the Traktor, what happens to the APC64 is that sometimes there’s no LED feedback. The surface works correctly, the strips, the transport, etc. Everything works, but without the LEDs lighting up. I contacted Akai and, as I mentioned, Ableton support, but I haven’t resolved anything.

After mapping the Traktor, I realized the same thing happens with this new controller. When there’s no LED feedback, the surface works correctly. So the problem isn’t with the APC64, at least I think. Believe it or not, the only surface that is always recognized is the Minilab3. That’s why I removed it from the controls, thinking it was a priority issue. But nothing changed. Randomly, Live sometimes doesn’t give feedback to either the APC64 or the Traktor. Sometimes it only doesn’t give feedback to the Traktor, and what happens is that once the program is closed, if I open the task manager, Live is still running in the background until I physically disconnect the Traktor from the USB port.

In 98% of cases, all surfaces are recognized the first time Live starts. After closing it, it’s as if something stays in the background, and if I reopen Live after a few hours, there’s no feedback.

Here are the attempts I’ve made:

  • Disabled USB power saving and selected “Maximum Performance”
  • Disabled USB port suspension in Device Manager
  • Disabled USB ports in the BIOS when the computer is turned off
  • Changed all possible ports, used one device at a time, changed cables

None of these attempts have been successful.

By the way, i have tried all of this option on a fresh new Win 11 installation, where i have only Live and my controllers installed.

Thanks again, and I hope someone can provide some information on what the issue might be.

Hello and sorry of i come here again, but i’m really struggling with this. If i stay with Live closed for 15 minutes, and re open it, the Arturia has always led feedback, but the Akai and Traktor no. The second time booth Arturia and Akai have led feedback, but Traktor not and if i close Ableton, the only way to kill it, Is to turn off the Traktor.
Really don’t know what Is happening. The Minilab works great…
