LED Feedback not working on Midi Fighter Twister in Ableton Live

Hi everyone,

I’ve built a custom control surface in Control Surface Studio for my Midi Fighter Twister, and everything is working perfectly except for the LED feedback.

  • I can control Ableton parameters from the Twister (encoders, push buttons, etc.) without any issues.
  • But Ableton does not send any MIDI feedback back to the Twister — the LED rings or button colors never change.
  • I followed everything exactly as shown in this video:

Here’s my setup:

  • Ableton Live 12 Beta (latest update)
  • Control Surface Studio latest version
  • Midi Fighter Twister (latest firmware)

I’ve already checked:

  • The script is saved in the correct MIDI Remote Scripts folder.
  • In Ableton’s Link/MIDI preferences, the Output port has Remote = On.
  • The Midi Fighter Utility is closed while testing.

Do I need to configure something inside the Midi Fighter Utility to make LED feedback work?

Or is there anything else I should change in either Control Surface Studio or Ableton to get the LEDs responding (e.g. sending color/feedback messages)?

Has anyone else experienced this issue with the Twister + CSS + Ableton 12 Beta combination?

Thanks so much for any help! 🙏

Patrice

Hi Patrice,
Are you using our Twister controller template (from the On Remotify section inside CSS) and is your MF Twister set to the factory default settings?

And for the mappings, do you have the LED Feedback Override section set to Default? https://community.remotify.io/knowledge/led-feedback-override/

Thank you for your response, I’ll give it another try tomorrow and use the Remotify template.

Cheers,

Patrice

Awesome, can you tell us which item was causing the problem?

If I’m honest, I’m not exactly sure 😉 I suspect I made a mistake in the LED
