LED Feedback not working on Midi Fighter Twister in Ableton Live
Hi everyone,
I’ve built a custom control surface in Control Surface Studio for my Midi Fighter Twister, and everything is working perfectly except for the LED feedback.
- I can control Ableton parameters from the Twister (encoders, push buttons, etc.) without any issues.
- But Ableton does not send any MIDI feedback back to the Twister — the LED rings or button colors never change.
- I followed everything exactly as shown in this video:

Here’s my setup:
- Ableton Live 12 Beta (latest update)
- Control Surface Studio latest version
- Midi Fighter Twister (latest firmware)
I’ve already checked:
- The script is saved in the correct MIDI Remote Scripts folder.
- In Ableton’s Link/MIDI preferences, the Output port has Remote = On.
- The Midi Fighter Utility is closed while testing.
Do I need to configure something inside the Midi Fighter Utility to make LED feedback work?
Or is there anything else I should change in either Control Surface Studio or Ableton to get the LEDs responding (e.g. sending color/feedback messages)?
Has anyone else experienced this issue with the Twister + CSS + Ableton 12 Beta combination?
Thanks so much for any help! 🙏
Patrice

Thank you for your response, I’ll give it another try tomorrow and use the Remotify template.
