Tempo Control and Tempo Fine Control

Hi John,

Is it possible to assign tempo control and tempo fine control to a buttons instead of encoders?

I need to assign the bank navigation buttons (APC40) to tempo controls:

– Bank_Select_Up_button: Increase tempo
– Bank_Select_Down_button: Decrease tempo
– Bank_Select_Right_button: Increase tempo (fine control)
– Bank_Select_Left_button: Decrease tempo (fine control)

I finally found this solution:

  • Using midi mapping in ableton
  • Define a same CC control for “tempo up” and “tempo down” button, here CC15
  • define value 127 and 1 for up and down
  • select “relative” mode when affecting button instead of “absolute”
