How to add Scripts and Mappings

This guide explains how to create a new MIDI Remote Script in Control Surface Studio and how to add a mapping it.

Step 1: Create a New Script

  1. Launch Control Surface Studio and login.
  2. Click the ‘Add new’ button.
  3. Enter a name for your script.
  4. Click the ‘Add and open’ button.
  5. The new script will be created and the script editor will open for it.
  6. Assign a Controller Template to the script by selecting one from the ‘Controller Template’ or create a new Template by clicking the (+) button on the right of the menu.

Step 2: Add a Mapping

  1. In the Script Panel, click the blue “+ Add Mapping” button.
  2. From the list which appears, select the desired mapping type.

Step 4: Configure the Mapping Settings

When you add a mapping, the Mapping Settings Form will display. In here do the following:

  1. Assign a Controller Input to the mapping. , select a controller input to assign to the mapping by selecting an option in the Controller Input menu. The options in the is menu are pulled from the active Controller Template. Add more inputs in there if needed.
  2. Adjust the other mapping-specific settings as needed. These vary depending on the mapping type.

Step 5: Save the Mapping

  1. Once configuration is complete, click Save.
