This article explains how to configure LED feedback for a Controller Input in Control Surface Studio.
Overview
By default, LED feedback is sent using the same MIDI data defined in the Input MIDI Settings. This works well for most MIDI controllers where the same data is used for both input and output. However, if your controller uses different data for sending and receiving, you can manually assign custom LED feedback settings.
Configuring Custom LED Feedback
To send LED feedback using different MIDI data:
- Open the Controller Input’s settings menu.
- Scroll to the LED Feedback section.
- Change the dropdown from
DefaulttoCustom. - Here you can enter or select a different set of MIDI data to use for LED feedback.
- Click save to close the menu, then click save in the top right corner of the Controller Template to save the changes to gile.
This allows you to direct visual feedback (e.g. lights or ring indicators) to a different control or MIDI channel than the one used for sending MIDI data to Ableton live.
