Yes, parameter banks were dropped a while ago. You can simply use modes instead though.
Mapping drum pads isn’t possible using Control Surface Studio, but you can do it using Ableton’s user config file. Can you set your pads to full velocity on your midi controller? Currently mappings (other than Reactions) do require specific velocity values to be hit in order to activate the mapping. We do have a solution for this in the works though.

Are you connected to the internet when logging in? do you have any software running on your machine which could be blocking CSS from connecting to the server?
